Debra is able to tap into her TV news producer experience to provide expert on-air advice and media training techniques. She knows what the media will ask, when reporters will launch those zinger-questions and how they’re used.


At the American Wind Energy Association in Washington, DC, Debra provided media training and crisis communication to the AWEA CEO, lobbyists and economists. She also achieved success pitching stories to top-tier reporters with articles and videos in the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, MSNBC.com, CNN and The Washington Post.

While working as a contractor for the Military District of Washington, in Washington, DC, Debra not only provided strategic communications counseling, but also served as the command’s photographer and ghost-writer for a 2-star Commanding General. Debra was honored to remember our fallen veterans by taking photos at Arlington National Cemetery and other command events. She also helped manage the command’s website by taking photos, writing articles and managing incoming media.

    Debra assisted in other events including:

  • The 2009 Presidental Address to Congress
  • President Bush’s Farewell to the Armed Forces
  • State Funeral Training Exercises
  • High-Profile events at Arlington National Cemetery

While Debra worked for the boutique public relations firm, Susan Davis Int’l, in Washington, DC, she orchestrated media tours and provided media training for the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs. Debra was able to secure interviews with TV networks and national magazines including: Good Morning America, Fox TV, Family Circle, Good Housekeeping and People Magazine. Debra also helped secure national coverage several events including the America Supports You Freedom Walk.

While she was the Northwest Public Relations Manager for KeyBank in Seattle, Debra provided media training and crisis communications to KeyBank executives in Washington state and Alaska. She acted as KeyBank spokesperson for all media in the Northwest handling requests for print and video. Debra developed internal and external communications for Bank personnel and also wrote press releases, talking points and white papers.

Also in Seattle, Debra worked for Imagio/JWT public relations where she provided media training and crisis counseling to high tech and med-tech clients. She oversaw a team of public relations experts to help manage clients’ media needs.
